Jimmy Schauerte
Elder / Lead Pastor
Jimmy was born in New York and raised in California. He spent seven years on the foreign mission field pastoring at a church and directing a Bible College in Spain before moving back to the States to Plant Roots Church. Jimmy adores his family, is passionate about Jesus, and has a heart for missions. He is also currently working on his Masters Degree from Western Seminary.
Jacob Ramsey
Elder / Assistant Pastor
Jacob is a graduate of Calvary Chapel Bible College and is a founding member of Roots Church. He and his wife Danielle are passionate about discipleship and seeing people come to know Jesus. Jacob oversees the church's Leadership Development program.
Justin Dobrow
Elder / Production
Justin came to know the Lord through Young Life Ministries at 16 years old and has been serving Jesus ever since. He is married to his beautiful wife Kalie, and they have two cats (Spumoni & Cannoli). Justin is a graduate of Oswego State University and works as a manager for NBC.
Liz Schauerte
Deacon / Worship Leader
Liz has an amazing ability to lead God's people into worship, and has been doing it from the age of 15! She was adopted from Korea, raised in New York, and was a missionary in Spain for nearly six years. It was in Spain that Liz met and would eventually marry Pastor Jimmy. Together they have two beautiful children, Haven & Malachi.
Daisy Avalos
Deacon / Finances
Born in Ecuador, Daisy moved to NYC at 5 years old and has never left. She has an amazing heart for kids, the City, and to step in and serve wherever she's needed.
Danielle Ramsey
Deacon / Children's Ministry
Danielle has a love for children, she is in charge of our children's ministry and work hard in renewing minds of our young members through songs and story telling. She along with other members teaches the children of our church about the truth of the bible each Sunday.
Theresa Stephens
Deacon / Care Ministry
Theresa has been a part of the core team since Roots was just a dream! She has been walking with Jesus for over 30 years and absolutely loves people. She graduated from the Teachers College at Columbia University and has been an educator in NYC for over 20 years!
Chandler Holloway
Deacon / Community
Chandler is a Bible College graduate who loves people and loves our city! He is in regular rotation on the teaching team, is a worship leader, and is our Deacon of Community at Roots. Chandler has also been trained by Redeemer Counseling services and is a part of a counseling team at Roots.
Celina Santiago
Deacon / Outreach
Celina is a Villanova grad who has been involved at Roots for a number of years! She has a servants heart and a passion for great commission work in our community. Celina organizes all of our community engagement and leads the way in seeking to be the hands and feet of Jesus to our neighbors.
